Hi Travelers,
I am sure many of you are not aware of this cool place. So, let me welcome you to one of the beautiful place of Uttarakhand i.e. Chopta famous for its Chandrashila trek. The journey roadmap is Deorital->Chopta-> Tunganath-> Chandrashila.
It was a total of 5kms trek from Chopta =3.5 till Tunganath Temple + 1.5 kms till Chandrashila.

And this is your Travel guide :)
There was not much crowd but people from India hikes who follow a proper schedule to cover up places and have group events like singing ,bonfire etc , but we planned our own trip as we wanted more adventure rather than a fix plan.

We went to this place in December, it was chilling winters. It was very quiet there. Little ahead of the lake there was a tower kind of structure which you can climb to get a panorama of the place. I could see different birds over there (the one with long tail also). It was a peaceful location.
We stayed near Deorital lake in tents and stayed cozy in our sleeping bags. The local people over there also provide tents and blankets at minimal cost, so you can also skip the extra luggage. During the night we could here voice of the group singing and playing the guitar.
Morning scenes ----

It was an overnight stay and we left for Chopta early morning.
In Chopta we stayed in a cottage. That was a full wooden cottage with remarkable design. It was owned by a man who was well educated and wanted people to visit Uttarakhand and promote tourism. That cottage was well equipped with decathlon stuff which was more of a surprise to me.
We were welcomed with delicious food and great services.
View of Backside of cottage where some of my friends did yoga asans in the morning.

After having our delicious breakfast we headed for the trek at around 11:00 am. One of Nepali person became our guide for the trek to Chandrashila. He loaded himself with water, and other food items and was telling us stories of the local area. Meanwhile, I took some other path imagining it to be some shortcut but then I got lost. I managed to join back somehow.

Just a glimpse of the trek route. The views were more spectacular than these images.

Destination 1 ------
The Tunganath (literal meaning: Lord of the peaks), is one of the highest Shiva temples in the world and is the highest of the five (Panch Kedar) temples of uttarakhand. Tungnath is perched at an elevation of 3, 680 metres (12, 073 ft) above sea level and is considered to be more than 1,000 years old.

The clear blue sky and the cool breeze was mesmerizing. You can only hear bells ringing in complete silence.
Basically,Tunganath Temple which is the destination of the trek for most of the people because after reaching here they don’t have the guts to walk more but being more adventurous we went ahead and visited this place “Ganga Dham” temple that is basically Chandrashila peak.
Destination 2---------

It was tough to again walk the extra mile to cover up this beautiful location, but it was worth it. This place is famous for its wonderful sunset, which we somehow missed as it was all foggy there.

View from the top of the peak. The views were amazing, you could see many ranges.I did not capture much because it was all foggy afterwards. Our clothes were wet while returning because of the fog.

On the way back to Chopta.

I suggest you to check out this place, this place is a perfect combination of spirituality, beauty and serenity. I assure you will not be disappointed.
All the best guys.
